  1. 1. I believe that my communication skills are pretty good. I am a people person, and socially equipped on a broad scale. In an academic setting, i dont find myself having trouble communicating with instructors, students, peers, or anyone around for that matter. My strengths are being able to project and convey whatever message i need to. In a different professional setting, i again find myself being a success in communicating, hence the reason why i am usaully the one who has the most contact with the customers while i am at work. Good Communication is definitley one of strengths.

    2. Communication will be vital in my professional career. As a Pediatrician, not only will i be dealing with the emotion-filled children, but as well the concerned and sometimes bewildered parents. In addition communication amongst my colleagues will be essntial in operating an effective and successful practice.

  7. 1.I have evaluated my communications skills in a professional and academic manner. I found that i do communicate well because i am a good listener. I love to hear other point of views about things as well as learning new facts. My facial expressions and input to the situation are then accurate when i communicate because i listened so well. The challenges i face when communicated is speaking. I mentioned how i listen and so i am taking a part in the convosation, but i do not always share my " two cents". It will be a chaleenge, but i would like to become more outspoken.

2.I see effective communication skills playing a huge role in my professional future. I say this because i am going to be a nurse. Since, i am in the medical field, i must know how to communicate with patients and other nurses and doctors. If i do not communicate with them well a serious problem may occur. This issue can be life or death, communication will be the key in my professional future!

I am prepared and know some knowledge of what is going on.

    2. Knowing how to communicate is critical in every profession. Even though i do not know what profession I'm going to have to talk. It may be in an interview or to my colleagues but i would have to communicate.

@sonyamaria... This is so true. While being a nurse communication with your patients is very important. Someone's life is in jeopardy.

There is no way in the world I can do that if I can't talk to people in a professional setting and do a good job of convincing them to see things like I see them if my communication skills are sub-par.

Ekebnta: You're right. Communication is very important in a pediatrician's life.

Chardai: It's good that you're working on your grammar skills.

My communication skills are just enough to get me by. I don't always be in the mood to talk to people which is why I wear my headphoes all the time. I think that if I were willing to communicate a little more I'd improve in everything in life because when I need help I don't ask sometimes.

Since I see myself as a leader I'm sure communication skills will be very important when I am leading someone because I will need the patience to hear people out and I don't do that well now so I will have to work on it. So for my in future I see effective communications skills playing a mega role.

I usually mis words and don't get my point across.

  23. 1. I feel as though my communication skills are quite strong espeically in a professional setting. In contrast, I believe that my communication skills in a personal setting aren't as strong due to language barriers I have with some of my peers. 2. As my aspirations of being a corporate attorney I believe that my communications skills will be vastly used in a almost all settings. I know that I will be dealing with people from all over the globe, so in advance I will need to speak clearly and make sure that what I'm saying is not misinterpeted by any means.

2.What role do you see effective communication skills playing in your professional future?

Effective communication skills play an important role in my future because as a future successful actress, communication is key. If i am auditioning, people must understand what i am saying clearly and be able to identify the character and the situation.

1.) I am a naturally shy person so I tend to only communicate with people that I know so since Ive been in college ive had to learn how to open up and let my teachers know whats going on because their are alot of questions that my peers cant always answer. With that being said, I am more comfortable talking to professors.

2.)Being as though i would like to become a doctor and do research, communication is definetly important because i would have to learn how to talk to people of different ethnic backgrounds and etc. and also attend different medical conferences and being able to communicate my ideas would be important

  27. 1. When I first started school I was skeptical to speak out in class and participate in any type of class discussions. Even when I attended sessions on academic interests or discussions, I would not speak out because I feared that I would say something that sounded dumb. As I have progressed to my second semester, I am more open to sharing my point of view and voicing my opinion when I am included in discussions.

    2. I plan to become a teacher and even though I will teach young kids, I know that I cannot be shy because I have to so that I have authority. Although I am often uncomfortable speaking in front of my peers, I feel better about working with younger kids. I know that I must have good communication skills to work with my students so that that respect my authority, but also understand that I am there to help them learn.

    @ Craishan Bridges

I sruggle with the same problems as you. When I speak in front of people, I get nervous when I realize that I say "uh" and "um" a lot. It makes me feel stupid and I just want to stop talking.

    @ Ekebnta Okorn

I agree that you are good at communicating effectively. I aspire to one day be able to speak like you. Can you give me any tips to become a better speaker??

    @ Alexandria Broadnax

I also like to practice my speeches in front of my friends so that I can get their feedback and work on things that can be fixed.

  31. 1. My academic skills can be similar and different in an academic and professional setting. I feel that in a an academic setting I can be more comfortable depending on who my teacher is and my relationship with them. But overall I feel that I have the ability to articulate my thoughts and ideas clearly and in a collegiate way. I can work on using filler words like "uhm" and things of that nature. Also I feel that I cam enhance my vocabulary so that I am not using elementary language but rather prestigious and more professional language. Overall no matter how well I believe my communication is, there is always room for improvements.

    2. In a professional setting effective communication can be helpful for me to be able to convey what I am thinking. often times I just assume that people should automatically know what i am thinking but that is not always the case, especially in a professional setting. It can be very childish to assume that some is a mind reader. But overall I feel that effective communication can help me to articulate what I am thinking to my supervisor and co-workers.
