#1) Physically: make sure that I am fully groomed as far as hair, makeup, hygiene, nails, feet, smile and most imporatantly attire. Attire is dependent upon the job youre applying for, of course. Psycologically, I would have to calm myself down, and be on attack mode. I wouldnt want to come off arrogant, but trainable, and knowing that I am the best candidate for the job.

#2)When I got interviewed when I was 14 for this sandwich place called, "Togo's," I was scared out of my mind! I had no idea what I was thinking, or what I was going to say. I had no previous exprinevce that would boost my chances of gettoing hired, ahnd I definetly had no proper communication skills. I went in with big hoop earrings, chewing gum. Thats enough said, you all can imagine what I couldve done better :)

  2. 1.)When preparing for an interview like Lyniece stated is just making sure that I look my best. From my head to my toes, make sure that my hair is groomed most of the times is nice to have it put back depending on the job of course. Making sure my face is clean, teeth are sparkling white, and my attire is professional. Psychologically make sure that I am calmed and relaxed. I try to prepare myself by practicing mock interview questions and making sure not to say “uhm”, and most importantly make eye contact instead of having wondering eyes.

2.)Honestly I have never had a bad interview experience, but when I acquired my first job the interview went very well and I and my employer are still very close. Throughout all of my jobs I have been able to obtain very good relationships with my employer which helps in the future for recommendations for school, references for other jobs, and possibly even re-employment when I go home in the summer.

  4. 1.) The physical and psychological preparation for an interview should have to include; properly dress for an interview-for example dressing neatly and conservatively, avoid excessive jewelry and make-up, self confident, conveying that your are the best candidate for the job and having valuable skills and talents and the most important preparation for an interview is being on time it's best to arrive 10-15 minutes early and being well prepared.

2.) Sadly to say that I have never been on an interview.

  5. How do you personally prepare both physically and psychologically for an interview?
--I've never been on a job interview, but to prepare myself physically, I'd be sure that I was dressed appropriately. I'd probably wear slacks and a shirt, something that says that I am serious about the job. To prepare myself psychologically, I'd tell myself to calm down, get over my nervousness, and to just be "me".

  6. 1. Being interviewed is stressful, therefore you should take the time to review standart interview questions that would mostlikely be asked. You should also do a little background searching on the company. Take time to research the company so that you will be ready to answer any questions about the company they may throw your way.

    2. Unfortunately I have never been on an interview!

    * Physically you make sure that you dress for the interview. Ladies wear a blouse and no cleavage with a skirt to the knees or a nice pair of pants (no jeans) and a nice pair of shoes. For guys they should also wear a collared shirt with a tie, a pair of pants and nice shoes. Hair should be well groomed . Psychologically you should be calm and answer to the best of your ability. Do not make more of the interview than it is. Never let nerves get the best of you. Most importantly be yourself.

-I had an interview for Raising Canes Chicken Fingers and it went really well. I think I shouldn't have worn a hoodie but being that it was a more casual job setting the interviewer was really okay with it. I did get hired on the spot and I've been working there for a year and six months.

  10. 1. For an interview you have to prepare phyically by remembering that slut is not what's in.. Unless of cours you're preparing for a pole dancing interview. Psychologically you need to get your oonfidence up. If a person is truly self confident, then nothing can really prove to be too intimidating.

    2. The last interview I had was for the Melton Foundation. Going into the interview I knew my stuff, but was still a little nervous. I was really critical and felt bad about it. After the interview I was told that my nervousness didn't show and that I actually did really well. Maybe it was because I was actually prepared and because I was able to articulate my points.

Nicole: I agree that the conservative bird gets the worm!
Felisha: You'd better get on the interview train girl!
Kerby: I definitely agree that it is best to be yourself during an interview.. Unless you have a bad self and know that your actual self could never get the job.

  11. 1. How do you personally prepare both physically and psychologically for an interview?

To prepare for an interview physically, I would take time to make sure that I am well-groomed. I would make sure my hair is done, my clothes help me look professional, and display good posture. To prepare for an interview psychologically, I would do a practice interview the night before with aa friend or family member. I would sort out the important things that I want to say and think of questions that I might be asked so that I could be well-prepared for the real interview.

    2. Share an interview experience that you have had in the past. Did it go well or not? What could you have done better to make your interview more effective?

I have never had a job interview.

    @ Ellissia

I didn't even think about being calm and collected when the question asked about psychological preparation. Having those qualities in stressful situations are definitely important. Unfortunately, I lack strentgh in those areas when I am stressed or nervous.

    @ Kimyana Teno

My psychological preparation answer is similar to this so I agree that review standart\d interview questions would be a good idea when preparing for an interview. Knowing a little background information about the company is also a plus.

@ Those of us who have not had an interview

We can use the tips from our classmates who have had interviews, hopefully in the near future. We are gaining knowledge from people with first-hand experience.

The most important thing when approaching an interview is to first of all know why you want the position. Also you shuld know a little bit about the program/ position. Do your research! you may be getting yourself involved in something that you do not have the time nor the patience for. And Lastly dont be nervous! The interviewers are people too and have gone thru interviews before thus they will not KILL you or BITE you or anything crazy like that.

  15. I must prepare both mentally and physically for an interview. I must get accurate sleep and understand what my purpose will be for the interview. Once I have established my goals I feel that I am most read to handle the task that is before me. I review common questions that are generally asked and to the mirror I ask myself the questions. Finally I iron all of my clothes before the day so that I do not have to rush out of the door.

I also make sure everything is good hygiene wise...there is nothing worse than having a sour breath and talking in someone's face. To psychologically prepare myself, i usually think of questions that may possibly be asked and think of how i would answer them. Most importantly, i relax and remember that honesty is what matters.

Physically i prepare myself by getting a good nights rest, and preparing a decent outfit that will be appropriate enough for the interview. psychologically i will go over the questions that i could possibly be asked in my head, and think of the best answers to go with them.

Share an interview experience that you have had in the past. Did it go well or not? What could you have done better to make your interview more effective?

My first interview that i ever had i was 15 and it was at the company of my godmother. i assumed that i could dress anyway because it was my godmother and thought she would care, but i was wrong. I wore a dress that was a little to short with flip flops. she did not agree with this because she wanted me to represent myself as best at all times because i was also a representation of her.i still got the job, but to have made a better inpression on the rest of the people that worked for my godmother i could have dressed better and more approprietly .

I spoke clearly and with confidence to assure the employer that I could definetly e chosen for the position. One thing I could have done to make my interview more effective was to ask questions. The interviewer asked me about it and I told her I am just wrapped up in my thought but I have no problem being approached. She had the same problem and it was something we could connect on. 1. As previously mentioned, maintaining good hygiene, proper attire, and a positive presence is key to commanding the physical aspect. Also regardless of the job your interviewing for, you should always dress the part. Whether an interview for on office job or an interview for Burger King, you should always be presentable. Psychologically, have mental stability, eliminate nerves or doubt, and simply remain positive.

    2. I have had several interviews, and fortunately for me, i have conquered just about all but one(the task was given to someone with previous experience on the job. I prepare psychologically for an interview by talking myself up and reassuring myself that I deserve the position because I am qualified and an asset. I prepare physically by relaxing and dressing professionally.

Share an interview experience that you have had in the past. Did it go well or not? What could you have done better to make your interview more effective?

I have had two interviews in the past. One went extremely well. I represented myself very well. In my other experience I did not do so well. I did not allow the interviewers to see who I really was.

Mitch Moffett: I agree that prayer will get you in the right mind frame to really be yourself in an interview.

Alexandria Broadnax: I liked all of Alex's tips on preparing for the interview. Each tip allows the individual to be self assured and ready for the types of questions that show why you are worthy (knowing why you want the position and researching the company).

Kerby Wallace: I believe that Kerby's attitude towards interviews is a good approach. An interview is not life or death termining. Although it may be important, it is best to see it for what it is--an opportunity. If you do your best and do not get the position it is ok. When you try your best and give your all, no matter the outcome, you did not fail because you tried.

    1. To prepare physically for an interview I would make sure my hair clothes nails and jewelry are nice and neat. Not to bright, or to flashy. To psychologically prepare, I would make sure to review the company's website and make sure I able to effectively speak my point across.

    2. I actually just finished a phone interview the day before yesterday, and I believe it went very well. My interviewer asked questions about my life and why did i chose Dillard. It was an interview for a summer internship. Hopefully I get it.

  50. How do you personally prepare both physically and psychologically for an interview?

Physically: I dress professionally with not too much skin showing and dark colors. No flashy jewelry that takes the focus off my interview and on irrelevant matters.

Share an interview experience that you have had in the past. Did it go well or not? What could you have done better to make your interview more effective?

I recently did an interview to become a SOAR leader. It went well but it could have been better if I wouldn't have said "umm" in between sentences when I was trying to get my words together.

  51. How do you personally prepare both physically and psychologically for an interview?***I dress my best and I try to envision the interview before it happens. I think of potential questions and the answers that would be best suited for the company as well as being true for me.

It was like a small classroom and we were observed on our people skills and so forth. It went well because I was attentive and really showed my best skills. I could have showed a little more ease or laid back appeal in how I interacted.
